About Me

I am an amateur guitar builder/luthier and have been making guitars since Oct 2022, located in Milton Keynes, UK. I have built a few guitars and enjoyed making every one. I am quite passionate about the guitars I make and I have designed and made some of them them slightly differently from the standard look, which I think matches my personality.

Ever since my job as an IT Engineer ended back in 2021 I watched a lot of videos on YouTube about guitar making, from many different content creators especially the GBBO, and wondered if I could do something similar. I have always been handy with woodwork so decided to give it a go and have enjoyed the experience greatly and learnt a lot.

I have made a few test guitars. The first was a just to see if I could make one, which I did. It's a Jem style and very rough but it worked. It wasn't meant to be a finalised guitar just a concept to see if it was possible. I then made a slim Flying V, which being a different style I again just wanted to see if I could make one. Again I did and it worked as it should. It was slim as I ran out of wood, so had to make do with what I had.

The first finished guitar I made was a jade green stained top, Telecaster style with banding. I tried different neck, fretboard and headstock styles, and I think looks really nice and plays well.

As my son is the lead guitarist in Seismic-MK, a band in Milton Keynes, UK, he tests out all the guitars I make to ensure they sound right and feel as a guitar should. Although this guitar is not his style, he likes it and says it plays well.

All the guitars I make are done so from my workshop in my back garden. Its slightly too small but holds what I need just a bit tight on space, but I manage.

I have also made the jigs to assist in making the guitars, from fret slotting, to neck shaping. These have been partially 3D printed to get the accuracy required.

I am shortly going to be advertising my services as a luthier and hopefully selling my guitars to customers. I am just fine tuning my practices to make sure the experience I give my customers is the right one and one I am happy with. If you are interested in a custom guitar, please contact me and we can discuss it.
